Choosing Your Home

Learn The Home Shopping Process

As your real estate team, one of our most important duties is to make the home shopping process pleasant and rewarding for you.

  • We aim to do that in a number of ways.
  • We normally recommend properties for viewing that will not only closely match your needs and wants,  but also the ones that are within your price range. That spares you from the frustration of visiting countless homes that aren’t suitable.
  • We make sure not to let you miss opportunities. When a desirable property suddenly comes on the market, guess what; you’re alerted.
  • We help you schedule the viewings that fit your schedule, so there’s as little to no inconvenience to you.
  • Before you view a home, we provide you with in-depth details on the property, so you can actually make an informed decision and not just go with your gut feeling. These details include the  market value and more. Then after, if you have questions, we will get the answers for you.
  • You can also expect to get the scoop on the neighborhood, so you get a clear sense of what an area is like in terms of safety, lifestyle, schools, etc.
  • When you find a property you really like, we give you our honest, professional recommendation as to how well that particular home meets your needs and wants. You won’t have to make such an important decision without our professional advice.
  • As your real estate team, we are committed to getting you into the right home, and will be with you on every step of the way.

What to Look for when Viewing a Property

Here are just few questions and ideas to consider when you view a home. These should help make the process much easier and more productive:

  • Does the house have your “needs” features (The features you must have)? ~i.e the number of bedrooms, closet space, kitchen size, etc.
  • Does that home have any of your “wants” features (the features you’d would like to have but can live without)? ~i.e a backyard deck, a spacious family room, etc.
  • What is the overall general condition of the home? (Do you see signs that the owners have kept up with repairs and maintenance?
  • Will the home need any major repairs, such as remodeling or renovations? Is there anything that may need to be replaced soon? ~i.e furnace.
  • What is it that you like most about the home?
  • Is there anything don’t like about the home? Can it be changed with a remodeling or a renovation?
  • Take a walk around the neighborhood. Do the homes appear well-kept, indicating pride of ownership?
  • Do you actually like where the home is situated in the neighborhood?
  • Does that neighborhood have what you want? ~i.e access to public transit, shopping, local parks, etc.

Viewing properties should never be frustrating for you. It’s our job to help make the process easy and more productive for you, so you can find the home you want without giving up.
